When you click “Search” on the navigation bar and select “Credit Accumulation and Transfer”, you will enter the landing page of CAT Search.
Then, you may select one of the following three options, and click “Search” to go to the CAT search page for criteria selection:
Credit transfer arrangements of programmes / institutions that you are exploring to transfer to (i.e. receiving programmes / receiving institutions).
Credit transfer arrangements of programmes / institutions that you are transferring from (i.e. sending programmes / sending institutions).
iii. Option 3: Searching for programmes / qualifications / institutions.
Credit transfer arrangements of programmes / qualifications / institutions and CAT information at institutional level (i.e. CAT (Institutional)).
On each of the CAT search page, you can quickly find a qualification with CAT arrangement(s) based on any combination of Keywords, Types of Qualifications, QF Level, Types of CAT, and / or Credit Transfer Arrangement for a Simple Search.
Please fill in or select relevant information in one or more search field(s). Click next to the search field to open the pull-down menu for criteria selection.
Then, click “Search” to search for qualification(s) with relevant CAT information on the QR.
To re-start a new search, you may click “Reset” to reset all values in the search fields.

More search criteria are available in “Advanced Search”. You can select any combination of the following search criteria including those available in the Simple Search:
Like Simple Search, you can fill in or select relevant information in one or more search field(s). Click next to the search field to open the pull-down menu for criteria selection.
Then, click “Search” to find qualification(s) meeting your criterion(a).
Points to note:
You can simply enter any word(s) / phrase(s) in the “Keywords” search field, and the system will match the word(s) / phrase(s) you have entered with qualification / learning programme title, name of operator / granting body, area of study and training, sub-area, industry / branch, mode of delivery and quality assurance (QA) status of the QR records.

*Note: The qualification search using the keyword “Self” will also return qualifications with titles carrying the word “self”.
Programme Area Accreditation (PAA) Status
When searching multiple keywords, the system will search records containing all the keywords by default; e.g. enter business management to search records containing both business and management, such as business management and business logistics management.

After making a search, QR will return a list of qualifications that match the criteria selected. There will be counts on “No. of Operators”, “No. of Granting Bodies”, “No. of Search Results (Excluding Double Count)”, “No. of Receiving Programmes”, “No. of Sending Qualifications” and “No. of CAT(I) Programmes” on the top of the list.
The qualifications are categorized into groups of “Receiving Programmes”, “Sending Qualifications” and “Programmes with CAT(I) Arrangement”. “Programmes with CAT(I) Arrangement” is applicable only if the last option is chosen for searching CAT information at institutional level.
Registration status, type(s) of qualification and type(s) of CAT are indicated by icons. You can refer to the full list of icons with their names at the top of the legend.
To view the previous / next search results page, you can click the “ < ” / “ > ” keys at the top or bottom of the list.
After making a search, you can further sort the search results to pick out the records you are looking for.
Fields with sorting function available are indicated with arrows in the column header, with “▲” as ascending and “▼” as descending. You can click the required field, and the arrow key will be highlighted to indicate the preferred sorting order.

When you mouse-over a qualification, the record will be highlighted. Click the title of qualification of the highlighted record and the “QR Record Details – CAT Arrangement” of your selected qualification will be opened in a new tab.
It is the same for qualifications in the shortlisted results page.
You can add search result(s) onto the shortlist by the following means:
To view your shortlist, click “Shortlisted Results” at the top of the legend.
The shortlisted results will be displayed according to the qualification(s) you have selected in the search results list.
Remove shortlisted results
Click the checkbox next to the qualification(s) and click “Remove” to remove qualification(s) from the shortlist. If you wish to remove all qualifications from the shortlist, click “Remove All”.
Print and Save shortlisted results
Click to print the shortlist, and click to save the shortlist.
Note: The shortlisted results will be cleared once you leave the CAT Search.
Information of the qualification, including title of qualification, title of learning programme, QF level, QF credit, types of credit accumulation and transfer (CAT), QR registration no., registration validity period, area of study and training, sub-area, registration status, CAT information and credit transfer arrangement etc. (where applicable), is listed on the page.
The “CAT Info.” field shows the weblink for information on CAT arrangement(s) for that specific programme. You can click the weblink to view the relevant information.
Information of credit transfer arrangement is only applicable for programmes with CAT(P) and / or CAT(R) arrangement(s). You can click the title of the receiving programme / sending qualification to view its QR Record Details.
Each QR record of receiving programme with CAT(P) and / or CAT(R) status allows the indication of a maximum of 150 sending qualifications.
Click to print the QR Record Details, and click to save the QR Record Details.
Click “X” button to close the QR Record Details page.
